For over 50 years, April has been the designated Autism Awareness Month, helping to raise awareness and educate local communities on the condition. Increasing public awareness of autism has never been more important, and it is currently the fastest-growing developmental disability in the world.
How Hope For Three Is Raising Awareness
Year-round and during April Autism Awareness Month, we raise awareness, inspire action, and promote acceptance. Across the globe, countless charities and organizations are hosting events and fundraisers, and we are no different!
From the annual “Strike Out” Autism event, the largest community awareness event in Fort Bend County, to our “It’s Cool to Care” program, which aims to educate young people, we strive to provide the most inclusive events possible.
On April 3rd in Autism Awareness Month 2021, we are incredibly excited to host “The Virtual Temple Experience” with Dr. Temple Grandin. We are beyond proud to have Dr. Grandin join us as the guest speaker to honor our 10th Anniversary celebration for this online, unique event. She is undoubtedly one of the most experienced and knowledgeable professionals in the autism community and an author, scientist, and professor of animal science.
This month is our chance to make a real difference for the thousands of children across America living with autism spectrum disorder. Estimates put the annual cost of care for one child with ASD at $60,000, a figure that is significantly higher than the average household income. With the lifetime cost estimated to extend up to $2.4 million.
This is why part of our mission is to create awareness and raise the much-needed funds for families living with autism. Would you like to support the work and efforts at Hope For Three? Get in touch today! Email email@example.com or call 281.245.0640 (9:00 am – 5:00 pm CST)
