Police Traffic Stops – Rosenberg

June 1

Register now for a “Police Traffic Stops & Positive Driver Outcomes,” in collaboration with the Rosenberg Police Department.

Teens looking to drive can start a driver’s education course as soon as they turn 14 years old – but they must wait until they are 15 years of age to be eligible for a learner license. As teens transition to adulthood, being able to get around on their own is a big step toward independence. The Police Traffic Stops & Positive Driver Outcomes program addresses the need to put drivers with autism, and law enforcement, at ease during traffic stops and other interactions and increase safer driving behaviors.

The session is Wednesday, April 8, 2020, 4:00pm – 5:30pm at the Rosenberg Police Department, 2120 4th St, Rosenberg 77471. This interactive session will engage drivers with ASD and police officers. Each session is a maximum of ten individuals with autism, ages 14 and up, and one-parent and will include role play, overview of traffic laws, review of safety rules, and standards to keep the driver, passenger and other drivers on the road safe.

Registration is a first-come, first-serve basis. THIS IS NOT A STATE-REGULATED DRIVER EDUCATION COURSE.
